Will Summary John Lovegrove Of Great Marlow 1799.

 Will written 1798, proved 1799.

Linen Draper of Great Marlow.

Dear son Henry all property in Checkenden Oxfordshire which is let out to ...Ward.

Dear Wife Elizabeth all rest of his estate for life then divided equally between his 5 children: Henry, Mary and Charlotte Lovegrove, Elizabeth ?Goldney, Anne Banks Lovegrove.

Wife the executor.

Witnessed by Martilla Mayhew, Elizabeth Davis, Elizabeth Blackbourn. 

Notes: John's premises were in West Street. He was in business with his mother in law Mary Greenaway. They were also lace merchants. He inherited his Checkenden property from his father Henry, a plumber and glazier. Son Henry became a lace merchant.

Will witness Martilla Mayhew left Henry's daughter Charlotte a gift of £10 in her will proved 1821 but written earlier. 

Henry himself was described as Martilla's dear friend in the will. Elizabeth Davis was Martilla's "adopted sister" as described in Martilla's will.

Will witness Elizabeth Blackbourn(e) ran a bookshop in Marlow, and also witnessed the will of Martilla.
