Phelps and Dell Graves, Parish Church, Great Marlow

 

George Phelps Dell, died Jul [31st 1850], Age 5?
And Ann Maria his wife who died Feb 19th 187? Age 77
And Robert Davis Dell
And James Dell

John Dell. Details obscured by another grave stone which has been rested in front. Lock keeper at Marlow from the death of his father in law in 1821. 



Fallen grave lying on side:

George Phelps d. Apr ?? 1811, age 76. And Sarah wife ....????1775 age ?? (George was licencee of Bowl and Pin, at Peters Street at time of its demolition 1790, and was still described as a victualler on his death. In our eyes he is better known for another role as the lock keeper of the first Marlow pound lock). Read his will here and a detailed biography here His daughter Sarah married a John Dell. 

And James Dell died Dec 3rd 1823 age 21

And John Dell, brother to the above Born May 2 1801, Coventry. Death Date unreadable.

Chapel Street Area Schools

The earliest known private School in Marlow was established circa 1757 by George Faux AKA Fox*. This was a boys' school and was known as...
