Will Summary James Braughing of Great Marlow 1686.

 PCC will transcribed by me from a copy obtained from the National Archives Kew and summarised here.


JAMES BRAUGHING MALTSTER. WILL PROVED 1686.

Weak of body but of sound mind and perfect memory. 

Commends soul to God.

To be buried at executor's discretion.

Legacy belonging to his sister Frances from their dad Thomas to be paid over to her.

All debts to be paid within one year.

Everything else to be equally divided between his sisters Elizabeth Child and Frances Braughing who are the executors.

Witnessed by William Pomfrett [he was an innkeeper in the High Street with his wife Joan. See a transcription of Joan's will here and more about the couple's premises here] John Hayward, Thomas Barnett.

Will proved by Frances with power to administer reserved to Elizabeth too.
