Dunham Grave, Marlow

 


This grave inscription is sunk in to the grass so apologies not much of an image can be made! 

Thomas Augustus Dunham, died June 13 1919, age 54. 


AND 

Alice his wife, died August 25 1941 age 82

It is located at Marlow Cemetery. 




Thomas was the relieving and vaccination officer and the registrar of births and deaths. He also served on the Marlow Tribunal during the First World War and as school attendance officer. 

Thomas was one of those in charge of  fundraising to provide the South African Wars memorial plaque in Institute Road - see it here

He was also a sporting man, connected to the Rowing Club and one to tinkle the ivories at some of their events. 

He organised the 1911 census in Marlow.
