Will William Ward Of The Six Bells

William Ward otherwise Piddleward. Beer retailer of Great Marlow. Proved 1849.

All furniture, china, books and pictures to wife Elizabeth as well as his freehold property the Six Bells beer house in Quoiting Square. She is the will's executor.

After her death pub to be sold by Sheldon Joseph Wilkinson of Great Marlow for the benefit of all testator's children.

Residue of goods to Sheldon Joseph Wilkinson.

Witnessed by Joseph Sheldon Wilkinson [note reversal of the man's first and middle names compared with in the main body of will] surgeon and Ralph Spicer.

Notes: Ralph Spicer was a lawyer who lived in West Street nearby. Wilkinson was a surgeon based in the High Street. You can obtain your own copy of the PCC will from the National Archives.
